I’m a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 2003,I graduated from Tchaikovsky Music School, where I studied violin pedagogy and performance. In 2008, I graduated from the Komitas State Conservatory of Armenia with honors (with Masters degree in Violin Performance. Performing all over the world has been one of the greater experiences of my life as a musician, and I’ve had opportunity to play at many well known concert venues of The USA,include Carnegie Hall, David H.Coch Theater, The Kennedy Center Opera House,Microsoft Theater ,as well touring the world with hundreds of concerts as the concertmaster,associate concertmaster of ShenYun Performing Arts And much bigger ShenYun Symphony .from 2011 to 2013 I worked as member of Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra,and participated in all international festivals and concerts of the orchestra, during that time period I had opportunity to work under the batton of many Great conductors including Christopher Warengreen, Eduardo Topchjian, Karen Durgarian, And had opportunity to work with soloists such as Pinchas Zukerman, Daishin Kashimoto, Maxim Vengerov,Isabelle Faust, Michell Legrand And others in 2012 I participated at I,Culture Festival and toured around Europe ,and that gave me chance to collaborate with such great musicians and teachers as Marshal Marcus, Claire Thompson, in 2005- I was one of the founder members of State Youth Orchestra of Armenia and toured with the orchestra around Europe,in 2007 the orchestra became a member of European Union of Youth orchestras as well the official orchestra of world known Aram Khachaturian competition. I strive to make my lessons fun! Learning to do something you love should be fun. I enjoy teaching students especially when they have a strong passion for what they are doing. I encourage them to practice daily, if nothing else. I always say, even if it's only 10 minutes a day, that's better than 30 minutes only one day of the week! I believe that music theory is a fundamental when learning any musical instrument, and I make custom worksheets that cater to the individual's curriculum each week. When learning a new piece, the aural, visual, and written components encapsulate the primary step, as I believe it develops a deeper understanding of the piece before attempting it on the instrument. My teaching style is strongly based on the constructivist method of learning. What that means is I prefer to help students by means of demonstrating skills( Left/ right-hand technique, excerpts from music, etc.), to scaffold their learning, and to help them overcome challenges by means of critical thinking and problem-solving. Setting practice goals and also keeping a practice journal is an effective way to keep students on track with their playing development. Read More

I tend to use the Suzuki Method for my students. I find that it helps create a solid foundation for the student and includes repertoire that is familiar to many. In addition to the Suzuki Method, I like to use etude books, duet books, and sight-reading books for those who are learning how to read music. I also like to incorporate Music Theory for all ages to gain more knowledge of how music works. Read More

I love nothing more than to see a student come into or leave their lesson beaming with a sense of pride and self-accomplishment. What that means to a student is as unique as they are. My beginner students may feel overjoyed to have learned their one-octave D major scale played pizzicato, my more experienced students could be proud to announce that they figured out a tricky passage on their own using skills they learned in a lesson. Before anything, I find out what the goal of the lesson is. I always want to know what the students want, so I can plan around them. The lesson will always be about the student! After discussing the goal of the lesson, we will find repertoire, etudes, or other materials that either benefit the student technically, or will simply be enjoyable to the student. Since the goal of the student can either be anything, including playing professional recitals, or simply playing a Taylor Swift song from the radio, my priority will be that the student is enjoying their craft.
