I began teaching saxophone in college, and since graduating I have taught students in Los Angeles as well as around the world, as far as New Zealand. I love to spread the knowledge I have gained from my experience as a professional musician to any up and coming musicians who want to learn. I teach all levels of saxophone up to the most advanced/professional, up to intermediate level on flute and trumpet, and beginner level clarinet. Read More

I started giving Music lessons 20 years ago. I began giving private lessons and group lessons part time in the afternoons after I finish school in the mornings. Young students come to me asking me for lessons after a Gig or performance. I found very interesting and exiting to see the progress of the students with my own personal methods. We follow a process with disciple but we also have fun and we go to the direction that the student feels more attracted. Read More

Throughout his teaching career, Jamie has also participated in many performance and recording projects both as band leader of The Rift, a guest, and a solo artist. During the school year 2016 - 2017 he was a Show Director for the School of Rock - Mamaroneck. Most recently he designed, produced, and taught residencies, culminating concerts, and family workshops for LEAP NYC as a Teaching Artist. He hopes to deepen his impact with music by exploring an education in music therapy and starting a not for profit that provides a 24/7/365 safe-space for young artists, thespians, and musicians in the future. My teaching experience dates back to when I was in high school, when I began teaching beginning students of all instruments 10 years ago. I have been consistently teaching students in their homes, my home, and online for the past 5 years. Ive found that introducing students to as many different styles of music as possible goes a long way in helping students enjoy playing their instrument and listening to recordings of their instrument. I use a wide variety of methods depending on the student's current ability level, musical preferences, and goals. I'm also willing to work with a method or book that a student is currently using. Generally, my students have a varying ratio of technique/scale study to work on the foundations, an etude/short piece study to help connect musical ideas and teach expression, and a solo piece that is prepared over a long period of time, most likely for a future recital. I really enjoy watching my students grow into their own and gain confidence in themselves and their musical abilities. Every person is a unique individual with a unique skill set that they bring in with them -- so I encourage each student to go at their own pace. Music should be fun! So I also like to ensure that we're exploring areas of music that interest the student. It's important to figure out what really inspires them. Read More

My philosophy is to teach the student what they want to learn while including basic music theory. I feel it’s important they know what they are doing from the inside out and why. I plan performance opportunities for the students month. This gives each student a tangible goal to work toward. I emphasize that music is another language we can communicate with. Every time we practice we perfect our ability to communicate more fully. Read More
