I am a passionate teacher and musician and I have experience teaching students of all ages. I'm currently enrolled at the Hartt School where I am pursuing my masters degree in Flute Performance. I co-direct the Hartt School's Flute Choir and teach private flute and piano students. I am looking for students who have the time and energy to dedicate themselves to practicing a minimum of four times per week. My lessons are fast paced and fun, and students who practice regularly can expect to see noticeable improvement in their playing each week. In each lesson I will introduce some new techniques and will work with you on scales, fundamentals, exercises from a method book, and music (classical, jazz, or both, depending on the player's preferences). Nothing is more important to me than seeing my students enjoy the time they dedicate to taking lessons and learning an instrument. All too often students take lessons out of obligation and ultimately dread their lesson time every week! The last thing I would ever want my students to feel is pressured. I want my students to feel excited about what they are pursuing, and hopefully I can add to that excitement by fostering a positive atmosphere during lessons. Read More

I've always been a passionate and curious musician, ever since I picked up a flute in fourth grade. I have been dedicated to both flute and percussion ever since then, and continue to learn and play at Sarah Lawrence College. I am currently focusing on playing in pit bands for musicals, as they are my favorite performance setting. I have competed multiple times in the NYSSMA solo music festival, and have been part of an award winning concert band at the Lake Compounce Trills and Thrills Music Festival. Read More

I began teaching when I was in High School, where I had several students of varying ages and skill levels. I taught private lessons in their homes. I encourage regular practice, and weekly lessons. A mixture of method books and my own personal written lessons I have found to be the most effective teaching strategy. Books with a variety of popular solos I also utilize. Method books are necessary for skill, but can get boring and repetitive for younger students. Keeping things fresh and interesting is my main focus in teaching. Read More
