I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson, always asking for their input so that the direction of their musical journey can follow their desires. I have developed my own system and materials for introducing the fingerings and reading music in a methodical way. I write my own simple exercises and songs. I use the Wagner book and a duet book, and appropriate solos depending on the interests of the student. I customize the lessons and go where the student's needs and interests are. Popular songs can be good as solos, and some studnets really enjoy playing Handel, Telemann, and Bach. Read More

My experience with teaching began when I was in high school. I taught two beginner flute students until I went to college in 2012. Since then, I have had students intermittently throughout my studies, and I am looking forward to building a permanent studio in the Hudson Valley.
