For each student I like to set specific, small weekly and lesson goals as well as broader long term goals, with the intention that each small goal will bring us closer to the large one. I've been teaching private lessons for 2 years; first starting with a few students from the college. Recently have sung with RICCO (performing works such as Carmina Burana). I have been in many shows, such as Into the Woods (Cinderella's Prince), Brundebar (the baker), HMS Pinafore (Captain Cochran), and Gatsby (Nick Carraway). I have also played saxophone with a few collegiate groups, as well as Music directed "Rock of Ages Jr.", and most recently a rolling performance group, Assemglee. Read More

I structure lessons to be as fun as possible while also helping students grow musically. For beginner students, I typically start by teaching from Flute 101: Mastering the Basics by Phyllis Avidan Louke and Patricia George. If the student is in a band or orchestra program, I make sure to incorporate any method books or music being taught in that program into my lessons as well. I also use workbooks and games to teach beginning music theory and karate belt levels to encourage younger students to learn their scales. Read More
