For my beginning trumpet students I always make sure to start them off with a solid warm up routine. I start them off with long tones which helps them to establish a great sound. Building a great trumpet sound is necessary, and happens by creating a warm up routine the student can do every day. Patience, encouragement and understanding of where the student is musically are crucial. I like to emphasize the idea that nothing happens overnight, only through effective practice and repetition.
