For my beginning trumpet students I always make sure to start them off with a solid warm up routine. I start them off with long tones which helps them to establish a great sound. Building a great trumpet sound is necessary, and happens by creating a warm up routine the student can do every day. I typically use a book for the basis of reference, and then encourage the student to go beyond the notes on the page.
