I've taught people guitar and music related concepts for years, and I consider it an honor to be able to help people reach their musical goals. Whether it's just a few suggestions here and there, or full-on lessons, I always do my best to give advice that makes a positive difference. I make it a priority to try to relate what I'm teaching to whatever style the student wants to play in, and I explain how each concept will help the student progress. Read More

I have had quite a few teaching experiences throughout the past few years. In high school I was a section leader for three years in the marching band, and helped a group of around 15 trumpets with music and marching fundamentals. In college I was a staff member in the Spirit of San Antonio marching band for one year. I helped out the trumpet section with marching music and with the visual aspects of marching. Read More

For beginning students who are children, I typically start with either Music for Little Mozarts Series or Piano Adventure Series with essential music theory related piano. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoires appropriate for their performance levels. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in first, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More

My grandfather, who played for Tommy Dorsey, was my deepest inspiration and motivated me to dial into my interest. Starting out, I played in church, the school jazz band, and took private lessons with Edd Dicapua. In 2006 I began teaching private lessons. In high school and some of college I went on tour with different bands. Read More

I love the Bass guitar and Double Bass and it is my goal to find and teach the students who have this same passion for the instrument. In my opinion, the bass is the most essential instrument in ANY ensemble and so if you learn to play the bass well enough you are on the track for success in any genre you wish to play. I am a very relaxed individual and this transfers to my teaching style. Read More

It is important to me that I provide a warm, comfortable environment for all my students. I strive to meet the student where they are, set goals, and make plans to achieve them. Voice in particular is a difficult thing to learn, since the mechanisms are internal and difficult to see as well as hard to control directly. That is why many teachers speak through visualization and analogy. I make every effort to explain the science behind the singing process, but I also use a variety of teaching approaches that have proven to be effective. Read More
