My love for music started when I was 13 and I started playing drums. I soon got in a band and was enlisted by default as the bass player. I fell in love with the instrument and dedicated my life to becoming a professional musician. When I was 18 I moved to Boston to pursue a degree at Berklee College of Music where I graduated in 2017. I have taught the drums in a variety of settings for 15 years. In Australia I worked for the South Australian Government in the Instrumental Music Service for 3 years. I provided group drum lessons to students ranging from elementary to senior high school age with a total of 40 lessons each week, at 10 different schools to over 100 students! While in this role, I also coordinated ensembles and concert bands and also established a music program at a juvenile detention centre. Read More

For new students that are beginners, I find out what music they like and what made them gravitate towards the drums. This knowledge is vital, for it is the opening for what I can do to get the student to develop a true attachment and love for playing drums. I have seen many young musicians get overwhelmed and grow a detest for starting music lessons with an instructor that gives the student a formula for playing drums that is the opposite of what they actually desire to play.
