I began teaching private lessons in electric guitar in 2016. I had been teaching to a wide range of students of different ages and musical backgrounds, from beginner to advanced. I have also taught in 2 musical schools (MUSA School of Music) and Los Olivos. Most of my students were mostly interested in Guitar Techniques and learning songs. In addition to that, I also teach Music Theory, Harmony, Arranging and Orchestration. Emily Retsas is a musician who currently based in Los Angeles. Since 2018 Emily has been playing bass for Phoebe Bridgers as well as having played for artists such as Kim Gordon, Boygenius, Better Oblivion Community Center, Shirley Manson(Garbage), Fiona Apple. Emily recorded bass on the four time Grammy nominated album Punisher by Phoebe Bridgers. In her young career Emily has become a regular on the international festival circuit, playing on huge stages including Glastonbury, Coachella Lollapalooza and Primavera as well as appearances for Saturday Night Live, Ellen, Conan OBrien, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Late Late Show with James Corden, Late Night with Seth Meyers, Last Call with Carson Daly, KEXP Radio, Tiny Desk NPR, Google and Spotify. I have assisted students with their Certificate of Merit completion, and worked several students through the entire Alfred curriculum, till they went on to achieve collegiate scholarship opportunities. Every student progresses at their own pace. I write out the homework for the week on a piece of paper for both them and the parent to see. When their expectations are written out, it's easier to see how far they've progressed. Most of my lessons start out with asking how their week went and how much practice they were able to get in. We then review the material from the week before and talk about the progress or any difficulties they may have come across during the week. Read More
