Born in South West Missouri, I grew up in the outdoors, and when I am not Teaching, You can find me somewhere in the woods. I strive to create an environment in my lessons where students have free to explore and express their passions and find their voice to become great musicians and people. In my lessons, I prioritize three main goals: technical proficiency, music literacy, and the performance of enjoyable repertoire. These goals are taught through age and experience-appropriate method books, along with supplemental technical materials that are shared with students as well. Finally, musical literacy and technique come together in application of repertoire! Read More

I highly encourage my students to listen to various artists so that they have a good example of what they are supposed to sound like. I also like to play in the lessons with my students so I can model things for them, and it gives them a concrete example of what to do, rather than just having an abstract idea of it. I also like to give them things to practice so they can get better in between lessons. Read More

I teach always. I teach by example, and I teach formally. My formal teaching background begins in church when I was 19. I did my mom a favor and started teaching/leading the children's choir. It was fun, I enjoyed it thoroughly, and our 2 performances went GREAT! It gave me a taste for it so I became an actual teacher in the SMCISD school district as a Focus Teacher (Special Education). My method is simple , edgy and creative the approach is extremely understandable and fun as long as the student continues to set personal time for self practice the sky is the limit I personally take student on stage to perform with my band when I feel and see they are ready they learn many original songs that I have written and help them find their confidence on stage we will work on stage presence, showmanship and most of all working in a top notch rock n roll band there is a lot of involvement when comes to performing and entertaining an audience this is a bit more than recital or playing your favorite cover song htere's alot of creativity that goes on with my methods.
