I also like to play in the lessons with my students so I can model things for them, and it gives them a concrete example of what to do, rather than just having an abstract idea of it. If there's a section of the music that's challenging, I like to take it in chunks. By focussing on the first couple bars and once that's clean, we can look at the next couple bars.
