In 2011, I graduated from Howard Payne University with a degree in music education, where I often performed lead roles in production spanning from "Bye, Bye Birdie," to "Gianni Schicchi." I am currently pursuing an advanced degree in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from UTSA, and am projected to graduate in Spring 2015. I have never had a student quit due to not being satisfied with my lessons. I raised a son who is now a classical pianist by profession, helping with his education and observing his teachers. I started playing drums and percussion 12 years ago, both classically, and privately trained. I was taught all play styles, and approaches to percussive arts. In high school, I was apart of a drum line and in 2015, I started drumming in a Rockabilly group in southern Illinois. I have had the rewarding experience of watching these young people learn and grow and discover more of their self confidence in performance as well as in life. I think a key point for any teacher is to be patient. The more relaxed you are the more at ease your students will be.
