Along with the books listed below, I ask that students bring a blank spiral note book in which technique notes as well as exercises customized to the individualized progress of each student are notated as the student progresses. Although I have an extensive personal collection of "drum books" , the books that I like to use for teaching are Teaching Rhythm, Stick Control , Realistic Rock and Advanced Techniques for the Modern Drummer. My teaching experience started early on as a recognized multi instrumentalist even by my friends , I was able to teach them and put musical groups together or join existing ones. Playing various instruments in several different bands at the same time was a challenge but lots of fun, and has continued as of recently. I have played throughout the US and parts of Europe, while also teaching. I studied jazz guitar with Vik Juris and Berklee graduate Dave Rubin. Read More

In middle and high school, I performed on saxophone, bassoon, drum set, all percussion, and guitar every year. I performed jazz, classical, military, big band, and marching band music. Served as head of the drumline in high school and taught many musicians how to perform on the snare drum, multi-tenors, bass drums, and mallet percussion. In college, I got more busy with schoolwork :( but I had time to compose music on my own and join a local pop-punk band called Shout London. Read More

For my singers, I go by the music I have currently in my library that fits their voice type and genre and then move on. If they are percussionists I want an idea of where they are and what they are looking to accomplish. I have a variety of reps and books to use for them. And for my pianists, I only teach beginning piano students and i help them with basic fingerings and theory off of the Alfred Piano Book. Read More

I have a great passion for teaching. I enjoy sharing my knowledge, and experience of music with everyone. I graduated from Rollins College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Percussion Performance in 2013. I am interested in all styles of music and I encourage my students to have an open mind; to make them well rounded musicians. I have had the privelage to perform with the Bach Festival Orchestra of Winter Park at their 75th anniversary concert. Read More

I have delved ever further into it over my lifetime (and continue to do so); and I love bringing whatever knowledge out of the "sea" of music there is to students who are eager to learn. Furthermore, I love getting "out of the way," so they can learn. Things that get IN the way are bureaucracy, stuffiness, overbearing attitudes, lack of curiosity, laziness, and pressure, to name a few. I have a track record of overcoming these obstacles to bring out the music YOU love from within you. Read More

I began my musical journey in middle school where I found a passion for percussion! I practiced and practiced and tried to be in as many emsembles as I could. I performed in my first Christmas parade and after seeing my sister's high school drumline I knew one day I would be a part of that. I joined the jazz band and started taking lessons for drum set. During middle school I competed in Solo and Ensemble and All-County and All-State. Read More
