I began my career as a Band Director, working with at-risk students in an after school program which served both Coachella Valley and Desert Sands unified school district. I later took a position with San Marcos Unified School District as a k-5 general music teacher, working with a student body of 1100 students on multiple focus areas, including group piano, musical theater, instrumental music and vocal music. I began playing the clarinet in 5th grade and immediately fell in love with the instrument. After playing throughout middle and high school, I went on to earn my Bachelors of Music degree in clarinet performance from Temple University, followed by a Master of Music in clarinet performance and a Master of Arts in musicology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. I had the pleasure and good fortune to study with noted clarinetists and instructors Anthony Gigliotti, Ronald Reuben, and Rosario Mazzeo, from whom I learned not only the intricacies and complexities of my instrument, but also how to be an effective and compassionate teacher.
