For beginning students, I typically start with the Suzuki method books, because I think they lend themselves well to both kids and parents who are practicing with them. These books also come with accompaniment CDs which I find very important to learning. For adults, I like to have a conversation about what the student's goals are and what they are interested in and guide my instruction accordingly. I posses extensive classical music and music pedagogy trainings. All my musical knowledge and expertise was attained in Eastern Europe. I play and teach piano, upright bass, bass guitar and a range of other instruments. I like working closely with each students, getting each of them to branch out and challenge themselves. I am a former Suzuki student--I began at age 3.5 with my mom as my teacher--so I believe that Suzuki is an incredible method for teaching young string players. The aural memory I attained by learning this way still continues to benefit me in my career each and every day!
