It is extremely important that students not only have fun during lessons, but that they also feel challenged. Every lesson is a small step out of the comfort zone - it may or may not be noticed, but the step is take none-the-less. The lessons I teach are inclusive and may include snippets from other subjects - such as history, science, or math. I find that really engaging the student's thought process gives them a more open perspective to approach music with. Read More

My teaching began in senior year of my high school. I taught at Memorial High School Orchestra, where I lead cello sectionals, taught one-on-one lessons, and coached chamber ensembles. In addition, I received training in introductory conducting. I believe that with my lessons, I have a balance between having fun and actually improving. Practice is absolutely mandatory to further improve one's abilities, and I expect students to try their best. Read More

I am warm and caring, and love to make my students laugh! I find that making mistakes can be much more beneficial than striving for perfection, and use these moments as crucial learning tools for students to move forward. I set goals with, not for, my students, and ask them to self evaluate before I give them my feedback. I provide students with detailed, structured practice plans that work with their schedules, and have high expectations for their time with their instrument (with, or without me). Read More

When we learn how to speak, we also learn how to read and write in our language. I believe that the same is important for music. I use different books for adults and children. As for continuing students, I will see what they know and continue from there. Read More

WIth the understanding that everyone has different aspirations and expectations, I teach students with the hope that they are all comfortable challenging themselves, learning from making mistakes, and are ultimately happy with their musical progress. For all of my students I try to encourage good basic technique and practicing scales and etudes. I believe in a healthy mix of technique and artistic expression. I also try to help students use their bodies in the most efficient way possible. I help students to create good habits and work to fix bad habits. Read More

Since 2004 until 2015 I was a principal cellist of Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Theater. Since 2004 I am teaching private cello lessons and also working at music schools and pre-school places, and I am also a member of a string quartet "Iberi." I actively perform chamber music, give solo concerts and participate in different music festivals. Read More
