The best thing about teaching is when my students get frustrated at some concept or technique and I am able to show them a simple and easy solution to the problem. This usually lights up my student's faces and helps them get better not only at their instruments, but also at problem solving. I always try to reward those students who are able to answer music theory questions or those that complete their assignments. Read More

I began teaching guitar professionally for Roger Williams International Music Studios in 1973. We presented a challenging program with accelerated lessons, using a type of computerized teaching. These were group lessons but the advantage you have through Musika is one-on-one instruction. I teach and play acoustic, electric, 12 string and some Bass guitar. For the more advanced electric student who has an interest in the electronics of special effects, I have extensive experience with programming floor pedals. Read More

In 2009, I moved to the Philippinnes where I lived for 12 years and also build a career performing jazz as well as singing in Filipino. I appeared on local and national TV news as well as multiple radio interviews, singing and playing guitar on ABS-CBN, GMA Network, and DWPR, Energy FM, as well as other local radio stations in the Philippines. I can teach the fundamentals of bass playing and advanced technique, music theory, improvisation, sight reading, and music history. You will learn not only how to play the instrument proficiently, you will learn how the bass functions musically in a group as well. I establish the student's level, find out what their goals are and then start learning music. I watch their technique and listen to their sound and guide them as we go. Read More

As I previously mentioned above,I show each student as much as they can pick up.I can show a student just about anything they want to learn, but its really about how much they practice at home that determines their ability. If the student practices a lot we move much quicker and it becomes more fun and challenging.Music is endless and you can never stop learning.they are proving more and more every day how music affects your brain. When you just listen to music, you use every part of your brain.Few things do that. When you play music you are using even more of your brain. My method is divided in two categories: Application and theory. For beginning students we work on basic motor skills for the instrument. Through simple exercises, utilizing patterns from diagrams, most students gain a proficiency at handling the instruments within weeks. During this time students are also introduced to the notes and common chords, learning their names, titles and relationships to each other on the fretboard. Once the instrument has become familiarized and the students are comfortable enough, then we'll begin introducing theory into practice. Read More
