I am a native of Louisville, KY. I started playing piano when I was 5 years old. I started playing bass guitar at age 10, and I started playing guitar at age 20. I started performing in public at the age of 6. By the time I was in high school, I was gigging most weekends. I also started recording when I was in high school. My musical background includes rock, jazz, classical, heavy metal, Middle-Eastern pop music, Christian contemporary, as well as some Latin music. Read More

My experience date back to my early college days, where I began as a volunteer piano teacher for veterans in a retirement community. I taught for a few months, when I was approached by two different women, one who wanted me to perform cover songs at the retirement facility that she managed, and another who wanted me to give her husband private music lessons. I performed for a few years during college, but stopped teaching after my only student moved away. Read More

I teach music by breaking down the elements of a performance to as digestible a lesson as the student feels comfortable in tackling. By setting such a pace with realistic goals I can keep students engaged and encouraged to work through material and really achieve a feeling of competency. I encourage players to learn a piece thoroughly and practice often finding that by the time they've memorized the music they can work on the finer aspects of musicality and performance that really elevates the work. When students are being lazy I call them out on it by saying something like, "What is that?" It shakes them up and makes them realize I catch every mistake. It's done in a lighthearted way so that the students feel comfortable with me as I do not want to drive away students who fear their teacher. Comfort and discipline are imperative to help them achieve their goals. If a student feels comfortable with their instrument they are more willing to practice and achieve a higher goal of performance. Read More

I began my musical career in high school taking on paid gigs at an early age and after graduation I had the opportunity to begin playing professionally right away. Before moving to Florida my central home for 15 years was in an arts-based community north of San Francisco where I was a member in several groups that gained significant notoriety throughout Northern California and the Greater North West. Essentially, I've sat at the hip of masters and put in my 10,000 hours of work to get to this point in life. Read More

As I previously mentioned above,I show each student as much as they can pick up.I can show a student just about anything they want to learn, but its really about how much they practice at home that determines their ability. If the student practices a lot we move much quicker and it becomes more fun and challenging.Music is endless and you can never stop learning.they are proving more and more every day how music affects your brain. When you just listen to music, you use every part of your brain.Few things do that. When you play music you are using even more of your brain. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music. It's important that each of my students progress at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. Read More
