The most important thing for me when it comes to teaching is knowing that my student is progressing but also enjoying their experience overall, another very important factor is overall retention of the information. Every person is different so there is really no cut and dry method of teaching, keeping this in mind the experience for everyone should be unique in a way. By setting routines together Im sure we could come to an agreement on how we could both help each other achieve our goals and succeed. Read More

My teaching style depends on my student. If I have kids taking lessons, I keep the lessons fun and exciting, and make sure to include musical games to play that will allow the student to develop good aural and vocal skills. When it comes to adult students, I try to figure out their most efficient way of learning (kinesthetic, analytical, etc.) and cater to that. It's important to know that each student progresses at their own pace, but as long as they are practicing and having fun, the rest will fall into place. Read More

For beginners I like to start with using John W. Schaum's Music book as well as helping them to learn basic music theory in order to be able to keep time and know how to read music. I help them to know their music scales so that they know them by heart when playing music. I also inspire my students to join recitals in school as well as encourage them to practice daily as well as play with others. Read More

My experience date back to my early college days, where I began as a volunteer piano teacher for veterans in a retirement community. I taught for a few months, when I was approached by two different women, one who wanted me to perform cover songs at the retirement facility that she managed, and another who wanted me to give her husband private music lessons. I performed for a few years during college, but stopped teaching after my only student moved away. Read More

I really don't follow a specific book or tool. As I wrote before, every person is different and I always try to empathize with my students. With the Internet, the tools are almost infinite. I focus on breathing and comfort singing. I use different warming up exercises for every person, depending on their needs. I am always excited when one of my student make progress, wheter is big or small. Read More

I strongly encourage a great work ethic. Believe in students to open the doors to the potential that is within them to discover the wonderful healing power of music. Through diligence hard work and focus on pure enjoyment I bring my students back to the keyboard several times over a week allowing them to be fully excited about the prospect of the time they would spend on the piano I feel as though what one puts into something one gets out of it and everything goes, in this big wide world on your permanent record. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. I truly believe in giving my students the freedom to select the songs and/or genres they like and that's because I believe passion is an integral aspect of learning. Read More
