I'm a very passionate and caring teacher who loves nothing more than to share my love for music. I've had sixteen years of formal professional training in piano starting at the age of four, as well as six years of cello which I played in the ASYO for four years. I also was the middle and high school pianist, church and choral accompanist from grades 6-12. I was pointed towards being a concert pianist had I continued in performance. Read More

I have recently moved to the beautiful state of Florida, and love it here! New Mexico was my home prior to moving here. I have performed in many ensembles, and do solo recitals annually. My performance experience includes Symphony Orchestras, Pit Orchestras, Wind Ensembles, Chamber Music, Polka Band, Latin Band, Big Band, and I have been a guest soloist on several occasions. In addition to music, I enjoy photography. The YouTube video on this profile puts my two passions together....my music, and my photos. Read More

I've played piano since I was six and have loved music for many years. My wish is to spread such love for music and hopefully inspire my students in the future. I will graduate with a Bachelors of Music from the College-Conservatory of Music in the University of Cincinnati in December. I've had many performance opportunities from accompanying choirs of all ages, to singing in mixed ensembles for my peers, to singing in ensembles for nursing homes. Read More

I play a wide range of genres. During my years at Mercer, I regularly performed jazz, R&B, and Gospel music throughout the state of Georgia. In the winter of 2015, I even performed with The Temptations. During my four years there, I also performed several sub-genres of Classical Music from Sonatas and avant garde to even transcriptions of Bach Cello Suites. During my time in Chicago at DePaul, I regularly did jam session and collaborations with different ensembles there. Read More

I have taught in a variety of settings including children through teens and adults, and children with disabilities, both online and in person, one-on-one and in groups. I started in 2014. I have found that the best method includes positive motivation, which includes both encouragement for what the student is doing successfully, and also pushing the student in areas where they may feel hesitant. If the student enjoys the lesson and feels positive, they'll be less hesitant and excel! Read More

Besides having an extensive career as a performer, I have always maintained 10-30 private students ranging from beginners to professional musicians. I can teach and play almost any style of guitar, and I always teach reading music, music theory, and proper technique along with any particular songs the student is interested to learn. As a University student, I began teaching at local music schools and found that it's a wonderful way to share knowledge and experience, and also to be around youth and become aware of how differently young people now experience music and acquire knowledge. For violin, viola, cello and bass, I teach the Suzuki method. The Suzuki method is based strongly on memory and takes a systematic approach to introducing music of increasing difficulty. For classical guitar, I start off with the Frederick Noad system, "Solo Guitar Playing", and scales. As skill level increases, I assign more etudes and standard guitar repertoire. For acoustic guitar, I teach almost exclusively finger-picking. I teach the same high standard skills for acoustic guitar that I teach for classical, but concentrate on masterpieces of the repertoire. Read More
