I first talk with my students to figure out their goals.  Once a reasonable goal has been agreed upon, I enthusiastically help them jump right into playing their instrument.  By breaking up portions of the lesson with review of simpler pieces, I encourage my students to play fun and simpler things as well, so that they do not beocme frustrated.  I always bring my positive attitude to each lesson, and have the students write down what to work on after each lesson. As I previously mentioned, I try my best to keep lessons as fun and engaging as possible, because I feel that creative enjoyment is a very important motivator in this field. That being said, I do encourage and appreciate a consistent practice schedule so that my students may advance at an appropriate pace. My teaching experience began when I was in high school! I had a studio of 14 students whom I loved working with! Immediately following my college graduation, I acquired a job teaching 15-20 students a week at a private school nearby. I fell in love with the students I was blessed to teach in both private and group lessons. I have a performance degree in violin, and am currently finishing my masters in music therapy at FSU. As a professional musician, Blanche Marie has performed on flute and handbells as a soloist and in ensembles for featured concerts, worship services and pit orchestras. She provides music for weddings and special events on a regular basis. Blanche Marie has directed adult and children's vocal and instrumental ensembles in churches throughout the state of Florida.
