I began teaching voice over 5 years ago and have maintained a studio of singers varying in vocal style, age, and skill level. Each one has brought new challenges to me as a teacher and helped me home in on my teaching style and methods. If my students don't feel encouraged, practice on their own, or aren't having fun in lessons then I am not doing my job correctly! I love when students find songs they are passionate about singing and working on them together to make them the best possible product to present.

While hearing something and being able to mimick it is important, being able to read music is a key factor when continuing to grow as a musician of all levels. I like to go over at least the basics of music theory with every student in bite-sized easy to understand pieces. This is in conjunction with our vocal lessons. Over the first few lessons we will get a base-line of skill level, range, musical interests, goals, etc. My main goal in every lesson is to make learning and growing the voice fun and attainable for all ages.
