The fundamentals of singing can be explained in 15-20 minutes, but it takes a lifetime to master them. Wherever you are in the pursuit of voice, it's necessary to develop reproducible, reliable technique. Singing is breath, vowels and consonants, and feeling, and how the three of them interact is crucial to having a sustainable, easy, and fun instrument. This is where the work is. The first half of each lesson is spent on vocal exercises and technique, and the second half is spent working on repertoire, applying what's been learned in an effective and lasting way. Read More

Helping Singers realize their "Dream" is my passion. I gained international recognition as a vocal performer of note, having performed on the stages of Acapulco, Tokyo, Bangkok, Singapore, Aruba, Curacao and Buenos Aires, to name a few, as well as major U. S. cities. To date, I have two albums to my credit, "Time Wounds All Heels" and "The 23rd Psalm", the latter containing the highly acclaimed title song that while being performed at the 1984 National Baptist Convention musical in Los Angeles, received a standing ovation by some 6,000 listeners. I am motivated to help beginners get started in learning guitar as music is a longtime hobby of mine since the age of 14, and now I'm 23. My mother is a singer with a great voice, and her mother was a vocalist as well who sang opera in Germany. So I inherited that gift, which I had to foster over the years. Anyone could sing as a hobby but I made it a point to sound as close to my favorite artists as possible, through trial and error. Read More

With the beginning students I use Alfred and Bastien piano instructional books. Also, the children simultaneously learn to read notes and understand music notation. In my teaching method the goal is to combine high level of technique with musicality and individual interpretation. The beginners’ lessons are systematized as a successful blend of fun musical games and new academic material, thus learning new is fun and inspiring. In teaching adults, after they are comfortable with the basics, they can play songs in the genre they prefer - classical, pop or jazz. Read More

I encourage my students to practice daily and to take care of their instruments. I tell my students that I believe that if you really want to be a singer, musician, and entertainer if you never give up eventually you will achieve your goals. Success is measured by your own happiness, short term and long term goals. Everyone goals are different so helping my students begin the journey to there goals is very fulfilling even if it is not to perform and only to learn a new craft or experience a new hobby. Read More

I break down the overall goal to a small step that is doable for the student. I am nice and patient with students, meanwhile, I insist on they accomplishing my instruction. It is fine if it takes several tries, but most importantly is that they had to try. Practicing is a way to learn from the mistake and how to avoid it. Practicing also teaches us how to be patient and doing it efficiently leading to success. Read More
