My teaching experience started after college I began teaching with public schools in 2006 and teaching independently in 2009 all ages. I love all genres of music and I motivate and encourage my students to explore music in that way. I love to have fun with teaching and competition so I encourage students who are interested in a performing career to perform live in talents shows , community events, family parties and gatherings so that they are able to have the experience amongst there peers and family. At Northwestern, it was my responsibility, on top of earning my degree, to teach lessons to non-music major students. These student came from all backgrounds and experience levels, and their fields of study included math, computer science, drama, and more. Along with my other students, who I've taught privately for years, they all made improvements in performance practice, musicianship, and, of course, their voices. My style is open minded. I first try to know the students' goals and prepare a course of action accordingly. Then I try to know how much the students already knows and how much talent they have. That allows me to determine how fast I may go with them or how much I must drill and develop a particular skill before going on. Sometimes if I assess the student is jammed or stressed I deem it necessary to digress a bit into music history , philosophy and other fields related to music that work as a refreshing background and point of rebound to the skill part of the lesson while increase the scholarly knowledge of the student. I can really hear the potential in each voice and have been through every stage that a singer can possibly imagine. I have great appreciation for music and the art of teaching. I began teaching music at a very young age, and instantly knew that it was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. After receiving my Associate degree, I began studying Music Education at Florida Atlantic University. Currently I am just a couple of semesters away from receiving my Bachelor of Music Education degree.
