In the past, I have used several different band methods and generally like to first use the book that the students' school district is using. As the student becomes more accomplished, I supplement with method books and solo literature from the repertoire of the individual instrument. For the younger student, additionally, I like to work with improvising and making up his/her own songs, so that they enjoy and develop a sense of accomplishment in composing their own music. Like I said before, it is all about finding the true and mostefficient voice. Every voice and different, unique, and beautiful. Ihelp train the voice to function properly and effectively in aclassical style. You can take classical training and use it in anysinging medium. My favorite thing in the world is when a student hasan "Ah ha" moment, where we, together have figured out something thatworks and changes the voice's freedom for the better. Read More

I look at each student individually to assess their potential and goals before setting a book or particular study plan. Once the student has begun basic technique exercises, I assign book levels and vocal repertoire that fits their interests as well as matching what I feel the student needs to be working on. I approach children and adults with the same methods: 1)Find out what the student's goals are. 2)Assign repertoire/technique exercises. that will help them reach those goals while allowing me to teach them the skills they need to attain those goals Read More

I began teaching my first piano student when I was 14 years old. I have since enjoyed teaching in many different ways. I've taught private students, homeschool choruses, pre-K-8th grade (using music curriculum that I created), 8th grade science students, large choirs of beautiful angelic children's voices, adult church choirs, youth and adult bands, gospel choirs, reading literacy students, and soldier medicshow to prepare for their responsibilities. I also homeschooled my own children. Read More

I use an integrated style of lesson that is custom-made to each individual student regarding his/her voice type and needs, as well as different areas of music language that need more studying, like theory, music notation, solfege, rhythm, basic piano technique, ear training. When a student is ready, subjects like stage presence and audition technique become part of our lessons. But first and foremost rule in my studio is to have fun while learning. My studio is a no-judgement zone, where I encourage my students to be free, to express themselves. Read More

At the beginning of our time, I like to set goals with my students. As we progress, we revisit these goals to make sure were on track and to see if any of the goals have changed. Students should always learn at their own pace, not mine, so I dont like to be too strict with these goals and progressions. Its all about having fun and learning a new skill! Read More
Instruments: Voice Music
The best part of teaching children is seeing their drive and passion grow with each lesson. Every child learns at their own pace, and each one has a unique voice and learning style. I try my best to be versatile and I like being open to new music and using new music styles that can help my students grow as musicians. I set realistic goals for my students, and want my students to look forward to their voice lessons. Read More
