Oftentimes I tailor lessons that ive created in my past to create lesson plans for individual students. I oftentimes use action research methods in helping me determine whether or not the teaching method that is being used in the lesson is effective for the student receiving lessons. I began teaching voice lessons in 1995 while living in Los Angeles, CA. I worked with many production and management companies developing unsigned and signed artists. I started teaching one-on-one so the students could get the results for strengthening their voice. As I always say "Singing is Breathing" so the first exercise I teach is proper diaphragmatic breathing to increase vocal range. If a student isn’t enjoying the process, then I know I need to adjust my approach. This method offers a comprehensive approach to learning the fundamentals of music, including rhythm, note reading, and instrumental techniques. As the student gains confidence and develops a solid understanding of these basics, I gradually introduce them to solo repertoire that is well-suited for their first recital performance.
