I have studied under the direction of The Hampton Roads Chamber Players and The Bay Youth Orchestra in Norfolk, VA. Currently performs several times a year at The Biltmore House in Asheville, NC and several other events in the Atlanta Metro area. Alongside being an artist, teaching has been a great part of my life.  In addition to my artistic career,  I have had the privilege of having a  dynamic educational career!  My first teaching job dates back to 13 years ago.  Since then, my career has branched out into many facets of the field, both as a classroom teacher and as a private instructor.  I have had the opportunities to work with students of all ages, both in the academic and musical settings.  My current educational stint is that of a special educator who works with children with Autism.  In either setting, it is my goal as a teacher to get the student excited about learning the basics and then building the skills, so that he/she may perform to his/her fullest potential.  Read More

I start my younger students with Alfred's Basic Piano Library Prep Course For The Young Beginner. This series incorporates basic music theory in each lesson which is imperative for success on the piano. The lessons use graphics, language and examples that children can easily grasp, and are lots of fun to read and play. As their skills improve, I play an accompaniment for encouragement and fun. There are typically three books that I like to start children off with which include Piano Party, Music for Little Mozart’s, and My First Piano Adventure which are designed for children ages 4-11 years old. These books help children to understand the basics of rhythm, music theory, and activities associated with the two. I generally like to begin my teenage to adult students with the All in One Adult Course series which consists of three levels from easy to beginner intermediate and also combines a mixture of classical and modern music.
