I began teaching voice in 1998, in Vienna, Austria. The following year, I was asked to teach at the Vocal Jazz Department of Gustav Mahler Conservatory where I taught for 5 years. During that time, my private teaching studio also grew, where I coached singers, songwriters and pianists. In 2004, I moved to Los Angeles, taught piano at a private music school, accompanied a Eurythmy class at The Waldorf School in Pasadena, and eventually built my own business as a piano teacher. I am educated in vocal pedagogy and teach the Richard Miller method of vocal health. I teach all ages and have experience teaching children of any age. I do encorage my voice and piano students Only if they express interest. What does happen often is that as a student absorbs the approach, it affects their life to some extent they naturally start slowing down and appreciating details in their lives too; they relax and become more aware of whats around them because their minds have been trained somewhat through practicing music that way. I first started learning the guitar in high school. I found I had an affinity for the instrument so I continued to study classical guitar and piano in college. I first started giving lessons my junior year in college and have continued to teach ever since. I am also currently the music director for the Yorba Linda United Methodist Church in Yorba Linda California. My responsibilities there include: Arranging and directing music for both services and outreach/charitable activities, and providing one-on-one instruction for player/vocalist development. Read More
