The classes are planned based on the individual's voice range. In general, classes begin with breathing techniques, followed by vocal warm-ups. Students at a beginner level will learn German lieder or Italian songs from the "24 Italian Songs and Arias" from the Schirmer's Publishing. Before that, I was employed by New York Edge (formerly Sports And Arts In Schools Foundation) as a Teaching Artist/Mentor. I was placed in an Alternative High School in Manhattan called City As High School where I worked with students aged 16-21. Specifically, I worked with a program within the school called MAD (Music, Art, and Design) Academy. For beginning students, I will start with standing position and breath training along with simple vocalize and songs that students like to sing. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals I will begin to introduce technical repertoire. For advanced students, I will focus on solve the students problems first, (such as jaw tension, tongue tension, body tension and breath disconnection exc.) then introduce new repertoire will help the students and develop the students to the higher and higher level. I studied music at WPUNJ with a focus on music theory as well as the business side of the music industry.  I began teaching music in 2006, and it continues to be a wonderful journey.  I enjoy inspiring, motivating, and encouraging each student to become acquainted with the instrument so he or she can become more thoroughly skilled. I started on my journey when I was 18. I had been singing for several years in a Black Sabbath cover band , and I had developed vocal nodules. Back then, surgery was suggested, and so surgery I had. Thank god there was no scarring.. this traumatic experience immediately brought the study of my own voice into mothers forefront of my life as I was pursuing a career in rock at that time. Read More

I first started teaching in 2008 in Paris, for groups of 10 students. I have had 3-5yo classes, 6-8 and 9 to 12. It was a very enriching experience to teach for such a young age, and very challenging to have so many students in the same class room!
