Hello, My name is Amanda! I am overjoyed with this opportunity to teach vocal lessons. My mission is to help young and old alike to find their voice. I started singing a little over 7 years ago as a pastime hobby. Then I started my own podcast. After seeing how it did so well I kept singing. I have taken a couple courses in music which really opened up my eyes to the history of music, but my talent is natural and effortless. Read More

I began teaching trombone and improvisation when I was a junior in High School. Currently I am adept in Singing, Music Theory, Trombone, Bass (-classical) and Electronic Music, but I also practice Flute, Piano, Guitar,Percussion (congas) and Tap Dancing. I have been told that I have a very unconventional teaching style, but I prefer to call it simplicity. Patience is a virtue that I cherish, but I am also very persistent in teaching the ultimate realization to my student. Read More

For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements , kids musical theatre collection and daffodil, violets and snowflakes. We work on Breath control, pitch and tone resonance, diction, and reading music Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice
For the last 5 years, I have enjoyed growing with my voice and piano students. I delight in working with a wide range of students, from beginners to advanced and professional singers. My goal is to discover the true instrument inside of the student, and empower them to use it however they choose. Innovative teaching techniques are my go-to, including movement and acting work. However, I place a strong emphasis on musicianship for beginners to take ownership of their craft. Read More

Born in South Africa and raised in Oxford, UK, I began my career as a professional touring and recording musician at the age of sixteen. As a member of the band Stornoway, I had the incredible privilege of touring the world and playing some of it’s most renowned stages, performing live on the UK’s biggest music television program, “Later...with Jools Holland”, alongside Jay Z, Foo Fighters, Norah Jones, and Sting, recording live sessions in the infamous Abbey Road studios for mainstream BBC Radio programs, being interviewed by top music journalists as well as performing on some of the BBC’s main prime-time radio and television political programs including Andrew Marr’s talk-show, and receiving a silver record from BMI for record sales - all before the age of 25. I like to promote a positive and encouraging atmosphere, whilst also providing constructive feedback during lessons. If there is something a student is having difficulty with, I look at various ways in which we can work to improve the situation. I like to keep lessons fun and engaging but am also very passionate and serious about singing, so my style is a healthy mix between the two. My lessons start with breathing exercises, scales and vocal exercises and then we focus on song repertoire and performance skills. Read More
