My method on teaching varies from student to student because there are no two students alike. For those who have no idea about anything to do with the guitar i start from scratch with the basics and i show them what every part of the guitar is called and why it is the way it is, also how to tune a guitar as well as learn the strings and notes. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons to some of my peers that were interested at that time, around 9 years ago, and since then I've been teaching students in my home country and overseas trough skype. I had the chance to teach as a professor on several colleges in my country including kids, youngsters and elder people, which I find very interesting because although they are very different I can relate to all of them in his interest to learn about music. I am a creative teacher that looks and listens to the individual to help them to master the musicianship to play their instrument with the best sound and learn and apply the style of music being studied. From my yoga training I apply ideas of right alignment that help the student to play ergronomically correct. From my Suzuki training, I apply the principles of beautiful sound and learning both by ear and with music. Read More

My teaching experience started in the YMCA, my church worship band, with friends and friend's kids and evolved into private lessons with friends of friends via word of mouth. I have taught over 50 students in 10 years. All great students but I know 12 who have gone on to play music professionally in solo work, bands, movies and TV. I have performed Folk, Mariachi, Gospel, Christian, Electronica and Classical music all over the country in bands and in my own solo work. Read More

I like to create lessons in which students learn to read traditional music notation, develop technique, and play familiar tunes. I use musictheory.net to help student practice reading note names. The faster a student can read musical notation, the faster the student can pick up new pieces. To develop technique, I want students to lean scales and arpeggios. Sometimes, we use a technique book to develop muscle memory, and other times technical exercises are created based on the tricky musical passages of solo or ensemble pieces. Read More
