Instruments: Piano Voice Trumpet French Horn Music

I have B.M. in Acoustic Composition and Electronic Music, 10 years of playing/performing French horn, 5 rigorous years of piano instruction and performance, and a whole lifetime of singing. During my time obtaining my degree, I learned about a plethora of subjects--standard, 18th, and 20th-century theories, theoretical applications, old and new compositional and performance techniques, timbre blending and sonority, standard and experimental notation practices, music business/marketing, etc. These extra areas of expertise lend for well-rounded color for the lessons I teach. Instruments: Voice

I began teaching voice over 5 years ago and have maintained a studio of singers varying in vocal style, age, and skill level. Each one has brought new challenges to me as a teacher and helped me home in on my teaching style and methods. If my students don't feel encouraged, practice on their own, or aren't having fun in lessons then I am not doing my job correctly! I love when students find songs they are passionate about singing and working on them together to make them the best possible product to present. Read More

Lifetime musician with 10 years of teaching experience. I studied music performance at the University of South Florida, where I focused on flute as my primary instrument. I have also studied piano, strings, voice for over 2 decades. I have learned under many great music instructors, various members of the Florida Orchestra and also a direct student of Dr. Suzuki himself. Aside from teaching experience, I have also performed in small chamber ensembles professionally for events such as weddings, charities, and live music nights at restaurant and am also involved in a few community volunteer ensembles. Instruments: Piano Voice Trumpet Trombone Synthesizer Keyboard

My general philosophy in music teaching is to ensure that the student, regardless of background and ability, learns something from music aside from performance skills. Nothing excites me more than to see that a student feels happy from learning something new or overcoming a challenge. However, I also aim to build a positive relationship with students by seeking new ways to keep the lessons fun and to ensure that they are satisfied with the music they are learning, etc. Read More

Instruments: Piano Voice Music Keyboard

Since I am also a composer and arranger, I tend to be partial towards the use of my own "homemade" methods.... taking on the idea of composers like Mozart, Beethoven and Schumann (example would be Album of the Young) and writing simple pieces that reinforce specific technical challenges like double thirds, left hand arpeggios, consecutive octaves, pedalling and so on. Sometimes if I have a student that likes Pink Floyd or Eric Clapton, for instance, I will do my best to come up with a simplified version of a particular song using good ole staff paper. Read More

Instruments: Piano Guitar Voice Violin Cello Viola Drums Bass Guitar Banjo Ukulele Mandolin Electric Violin Fiddle Electric Guitar Classical Guitar Acoustic Guitar

I really covered this in the above information,so continuing in more detail,it really depends on each individual student, their level of ability and age that determine the course of study. It also depends on the instrument. Some instruments like piano, violin or viola, books are more practical because the music is notated. With most fretted instruments, music is written in tableture which was originally used for the lute and brought back i think in the 1970s.Its easier than reading music and is more practical for those instruments. Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
