Learn how to make a secure beautiful sound. We will talk about the basics of singing…Breathing, support, and shaping a proper vowel. To be a secure singer, you need to develop beauty, quality, and healthy production of the tone throughout the voice. We will work on proper breathing, support (they are different), “placement of the voice”, verticality of the sound and vowel modification. Although proper singing is similar for everyone it isn’t exactly the same for everyone. Read More

Henry is an incredibly experienced piano instructor in northern New Jersey, working with students of all ages and skill levels.Henry is an active member of two bands: one is a progressive rock group where he writes original compositions, and the second is a Beatles tribute band that regularly plays in the area. The methods I use always dependents on that student. Everyone learns in different ways making it so important to cater to each students needs. I strive to creating a lesson plan specific for that student. I find by doing so that they are more passionate and progress much faster. I like to focus on learning technique, ear training, and theory through many styles, as well as explore different kinds of music. Read More

I began teaching about a year ago where I served as an adjunct faculty member at The Allegra School of Music in Hillsborough, NJ. What I love most about teaching is taking the time to taking things a part and exploring them, one thing at a time, concept by concept, and molding them back together to form a strong, solid technical foundation. Also, having an understanding of how singing is an activity that requires involvement from all of your body, engaging every part and make sure they are working together to create ease, and efficient vocal production. My teaching style involves setting realistic goals and making sure the environment is fun and invigorating. I always like to make sure I am teaching my students what they want to learn, but I do occasionally challenge them by assigning more advanced material that I envision them performing or think would be beneficial to them. I celebrate all of my students' achievements and always remind them of how far they have come, especially when they get to more difficult material that may test them. Read More

For all my students I design a fun atmosphere where they feel comfortable, stimulated and encouraged to absorb musical knowledge. Depending on their musical backgrounds and their ability I discuss with my students and their parents(depending on student's age) what is their primary goal to achieve during the lesson, what style they want to concentrate on. When we get to know each other I assign my student with Vaccai classical tune (practices vocal technique) and two songs in style preferred, when a student learns and masters these we move on, with more difficult tunes each time. I usually take the first lesson to gauge what the student wants from learning their specific instrument. If they want to learn a specific song, if they want to get better at a certain genre, or if they just want something to do as a hobby! I believe it is counterproductive to force a certain system or lesson series that the student is not interested in. I have tons of practice books, scales, and warmups that I like to use to help the student become more proficient and confident in their craft. Read More
