After graduating, I moved to New York in July, and am now pursuing a variety of opportunities as a performer and teacher. I like to start every lesson with a warmup including breathing exercises and vocalises. Students can either bring in repertoire they'd like to work on or I will suggest material. We will work for freeing the voice in a healthy way while learning repertoire that interests the student. Read More

I began taking on private students while still in college at Temple University in Philadelphia. Although I was pursuing a degree in performance, taking on a studio of woodwind students while completing my studies helped me realize my passion for passing along my own knowledge and experience I have gained as a musician! Since then, I have maintained a regular teaching schedule combining both in-home and studio-based lessons. I like to keep things simple. I focus on breathing and diction exercises and I like to discuss with my students about their performance. My style is very friendly and open and I will push my students to succeed. Singing comes down to muscle memory and each session with me is a mix of working out the mind and vocal muscles. Good fundamentals fix a lot of problems :) At one point, all my students (who have the self-awareness to do so) will stop themselves and correct any vocal mistakes made during practice without my input. I use different methods for each student based on age and experience. I don't believe that there is one method which is successful with every student. Through the years I have used teaching methods written by Aaron, Thompson,Schaum, Fletcher and others. My first priority is to get the students to read music proficiently.
