As someone with diverse training with multiple instruments and styles, I am very determined to teaching my students and having them become the best they can be at their instrument. I am firm, but patient and understand that practicing the right way is more important than practicing frequently. I am able to work as slow or fast as a student needs; it all depends on their comfortable pace. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. I believe in acknowledging accomplishments right away and pointing out the strengths of any particular moment during practices so that students know in which direction to work on, as well as see the results of their efforts. For all students we will work on breathing technique, vocal technique and applying those aspects into songs that they love to sing. If a student picks out a song that doesn't suit him/her, I will help them find the right song for them - building them a diverse repertoire that they can sing any time and any where, without any struggle. I have performed across the northeastern region of the United States and in India. Staying true to my roots, she spends the Carnatic music season performing back in India. My passion for music and singing led me to New York Vocal Coaching where I received an advanced teacher training certification.
