I began teaching private lessons since last 3 years. I encourage everyone to get basic classical training first to have perfect pitch. I encourage my students to enter competition, recitals and also give music exams. I also encourage them to improvise on the idea or on the song. I also encourage them to listen to good music as one also learns many things by listening.. I began teaching beginner piano when I was in middle school and caught the teaching bug! (My dad was a high school choir teacher for thirty-five years, so I must have caught it from him.) Now I teach violin/fiddle, voice and piano. I believe that learning classical music and sight reading are both fundamentals to begin learning any instrument.
