I was an educator in the Seneca Falls Central Schools for 38 years where I first became an instrumental music teacher. I coached high school woodwind groups and was assistant marching band director, as well as woodwind adjudicator for the NY State School Music Association. When I became a classroom and choral director, I attended the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY to attain my Orff Schlwerk Master level training. Read More

I like to take time with each of my students and discover the way that they learn. One of my strengths is being able to come up with new ways to explain a particular thing. I'm always thinking of new ways to get through to each student and I don't give up on them. I always try to provide a comfortable space for my students to learn in a stress free way. Read More

When I think about a student learning wintry to put myself in there shoes. It be as motivated to come back.... So my method is to teach them while at the same time giving a practical aspect where they have something that can show and practice to develop the skill learned in the proviso session. Read More

My ultimate goal would be to guide students through their growth in music and abilities. There is nothing more rewarding than knowing that I have shared my knowledge and passion with a student and they grew from it. I believe that every student learns differently, so I teach lessons according to how they learn. I set up realistic goals for every lesson and I acknowledge progress and accomplishments to help fuel a students desire to continue in music. Read More

I love seeing students progress and grow a passion for music. I think that it is extremely important that a student have a working trust with their music teacher. Opening up and allowing oneself to be real and show another person your raw self is difficult for both adults and children alike. I try to develop a working relationship with all of my students so that when they walk through the door for their lesson, they know that they are safe to make mistakes without judgement. Read More

I like to set attainable, yet challenging goals for each student. Ensuring that each student progresses at his or her own pace will encourage the development of a love for music. I try to acknoweldge a student's progress in order to inspire a desire to keep learning. Each lesson includes some technical exercises, a theory component, and other components pertinent to the specific instrument. For example, piano and organ students will learn scales and arpeggios, voice students will learn various breathing techniques. Read More
