For young beginners of piano, I start with Edna Mae Burnam's Step By Step Book 1, as it begins right away with basic reading of notes and music. From there, I progress into the Faber Piano Adventures Series. Adults will start with the Alfred Adult Piano Course. Voice students are welcome to choose one song each cycle, while I choose two. It's important to me that they get to express themselves and what they like, while also learning new pieces for their repertoire. Read More

For beginning piano students I use a combination of Piano Adventures curriculum and Suzuki piano method. I like using Piano Adventures because it is a seamless and easy way to learn how to sightread. Suzuki is used to enhance performance skills and learn traditional repertoire. I supplement with other sheet music on the side and teach scales and technical work additionally. For beginning voice students the majority of initial lessons are spent on technique and students are encouraged to apply it in whatever repertoire they enjoy with occasional assigned peices. I've been teaching singing lessons for over a decade, to all students levels and ages, and I saw them successfully reaching their musical goals with confidence and passion, and that has been very rewarding for me. I always start from a very solid foundation on vocal technique, breath control, to move with expanding their vocal range, stamina, and vocal agility. I encourage my students to challenge themselves in performances, and auditions, so we also focus our work on preparing an appropriate repertoire, working on stage presence, performance skills, and stage fright, if any. I started voice lessons the year before I went to college. I always loved music and singing, no matter the genre. I fell in love with opera shortly after starting at Westminster and found my passion in performing the classical art form. I have been fortunate in that I have always been surrounded by amazing teachers who were passionate and driven. They always pushed me past what I thought I was capable of and guided me along the way. Vocal metamorphosis is my goal for each singer. I guide singers to achieve that in a warm, honest, fun loving, and diligent way. Singers leave each lesson with a practice journal where goals for the week are clearly noted. I care deeply about my students and am thrilled that many of them who have moved away still contact me to share their successes or to seek advice. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
