I'm a young but already well experienced vocal instructor who loves working with different age students and share my love for music. In 2003, I graduated from Ignalina Music School with a certificate in Lithuanian Harp (zither) and classical vocal performance. In 2011, I graduated from Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater with a Bachelor degree in Jazz Vocal Performance. Presently, I am finishing my Diploma program at Berklee College of Music in Boston. For beginners of any age, foundations of music theory are essential. I am familiar with multiple curricular options. From the very first lesson, however, its essential to be making music and experiencing musical moments to encourage students to keep going! As students become proficient in the basics, I will lean into their musical interests and teach what they love, helping them reach their musical goals and beyond. The goal is to keep lessons fresh, engaging, and fun. Read More

I love sharing the joys of music with people. Teaching others helps me to learn about my own instruments as music is an ever-evolving, ever-learning art form. I appreciate motivated and dedicated students. I have a wealth of knowledge of all genres or music but, for the voice, I only teach classical, musical theater and jazz techniques. If you are looking to learn to sing Pop or RB, I am not the right instructor for you. Read More

I teach students about breath support and resonation and how they work together. Then help the student customize their own warm up method. while working on scales and solfeggi (do re mi). And then work on vocal projection and range, before moving onto vocal articulation and annunciation. There are many aspects of singing that work together it is important to understand how these factors function. its can be helpful to understand what to listen and look for in your performance or what others may see that may not be obvious to you. I usually like to get to know a student at first and see how they learn. I ask questions and get them making sounds right away to see how they use their bodies and how they naturally use their voice for speaking and such. From there I develop a plan for the best way to help them. I also like to identify their vocal goals (pop singing, opera, etc.) so that I know what direction they want to head and what kinds of tools I can offer them. Read More

I try to incorporate different exercises for each piece of music to keep things interesting for my students. I believe active physical engagement of the body is important to achieve freedom for the voice. This is particularly helpful for younger children to keep their minds from wandering during the lesson. I often ask for feedback from the students, to check in on how they are feeling physically and vocally. During our lessons, I hope to train up students to be creative thinkers and discerning individuals so that they can find their own authentic interpretation of the song. Read More

The method of teaching is as follows: 1) assess where the student is in music and in life, 2) ask about goals in music, 3) formulate objective to reach those goals, 4) rethink things when needed (students aren't cookies, so I can't use a cookie cutter). I do focus on things in order though. If you don't know your fundamentals, then that's where we start no matter what. After learning fundamentals, however, we can begin to pick and choose the battles and wars. Read More
