My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lesson when I graduated. I have been consistently involved in teaching students, both in my home studio as private instructor and as a part of the program Learning On Stage in which I perform and share different Latin-American music styles to teach students from high school and middle school. My students participated in several recitals throughout the year and competed in area music competitions. For several years, I taught music in the public schools and at the university level. I ask my students which genre they like the most. Then I ask them which artist they admire and what they want to achieve in music. Once I know how passionate and committed my student is I set realistic goals and create the lesson. As I said before, every student is complitely different, and is important to understand what they need from the very first time, so you can be an inspiration for them and not a waste of time. The voice technique is so important, basic, for a profesional singer, but is not the only thing you need to become a good musician/singer. Is so important to find your personality as an artist, your soul, and that is the hardest thing for a voice teacher, but when you have a student who developes that thanks to you, is the best feeling in the world.
