I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. I am currently pursuing my degree in music education with a concentration in voice at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. My instruments include classical voice, which I have been studying for 6 years, and classical piano, which I have been studying for 10 plus years. I've also had the opportunity to perform in various concert halls and ensembles around the world, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Beijing Watercube Olympic Stadium, and many churches throughout Germany, which has contributed to my experiences as both a performer and as an educator. I have also given masterclasses at Shenandoah University, Brigham Young University, The Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, Philadelphia School of the Arts and Boston Conservatory. My journey with teaching Voice was ironically during school! I had been in Choir since the second grade. Since then I worked hard to strengthening my instrument. I became section leader for Soprano section. That job required me to perfect each individuals tone so that we blended well as a choir. I began tutoring voice major on repertoire and harmonics. I began teaching lessons in college, but grew my studio while I was preparing for grad school auditions from 2010-2012. Most of my students at that time were beginner piano lessons and I love to teach young children. I also greatly enjoy teaching children with autism. I have had success in combining my music education and music therapy skills to help students accomplish musical goals while also addressing behavioral goals such as increasing verbal or nonverbal communication.
