I have been teaching out of my home off and on the last 25 years. I've been the master piano teacher, rock band teacher and concert director at a music performance school the last few years but I'm back to my basic love of teaching since I've just relocated to the West coast. Because progression will produce a passion for your instrument whether it's piano or vocals, I emphasize regular and consistent weekly practice at home with times varying depending on age and proficiency. Since I am also a composer and arranger, I tend to be partial towards the use of my own "homemade" methods.... taking on the idea of composers like Mozart, Beethoven and Schumann (example would be Album of the Young) and writing simple pieces that reinforce specific technical challenges like double thirds, left hand arpeggios, consecutive octaves, pedalling and so on. Sometimes if I have a student that likes Pink Floyd or Eric Clapton, for instance, I will do my best to come up with a simplified version of a particular song using good ole staff paper. Read More

My main priority is creating a fun, safe place where we can explore your singing goals together. My two main priorities in teaching are helping you create the best "beauty of tone" possible while maintaining optimal vocal health. While we go through vocal warm-ups, I like to mix sensational explanations with anatomical information while keeping the vibe fun and light. I'm a cheerleader at heart, and I find so much joy in helping others improve their singing! Read More

As early as I can recall, Ive loved teaching. Whether that meant being a teachers assistant or elementary school aide in my younger years, or as a music educator throughout and post-college. In high school, I was a Dance Captain for my schools competitive show choir, and would compose, arrange, and choreograph. While in college, I went to several music educators conferences, and was an active member of both the NAfME and IMEA (Indiana Music Educators Association.) I tutored my fellow music students at this time as well, and got my first private music instructor position following graduation, which was an absolute joy! Read More

The most important thing for me when it comes to teaching is knowing that my student is progressing but also enjoying their experience overall, another very important factor is overall retention of the information. Every person is different so there is really no cut and dry method of teaching, keeping this in mind the experience for everyone should be unique in a way. By setting routines together Im sure we could come to an agreement on how we could both help each other achieve our goals and succeed. Read More

Hello! I've been teaching music as long as I've been performing, going back many years. I'm an energetic, supportive teacher and coach, who is focused on each student's needs. Since I've performed worldwide in many different genres, I'm very comfortable working in styles ranging from pop to musical theatre, jazz and blues to classical music. I've taught voice at Berklee College of Music, and several other schools, where I've enjoyed teaching people of all ages, backgrounds and ethnicities. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
