Instruments: Piano Voice
I am a performing instructor who loves teaching students of all ages piano and voice. I am also a recent graduate of Temple University and the Eastman School of Music in Voice Performance. My passion is German opera and art song, but my roots are in choral music. When I am not gigging or teaching, I am singing beautiful choral music at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. This summer, I will have the opportunity to sing choral music at St. Read More

Because I teach a variety of instruments and styles, each of my lessons is completely customized to each student. While progressing towards a Masters of Education degree, I learned the absolute importance of addressing different learning styles, and working one-on-one with music students gives me the perfect chance to do just that. I develop materials that best address each students style, and prefer to explore music that each particular student personally loves. Read More
Instruments: Voice
I teach a breath based technique with a focus on relaxation. I want to help each individual find their true instrument. I like to use the 24 Italian Songs and Arias (Italian Art Songs) book as a basis for learning breath technique, legato, use of vowels and musicality, as well as being exposed to a foreign language. Alongside of this practice can be musical theater pieces that will target the areas of your voice that need attention and growth. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music, pursue their dreams and make them come true! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. Because we all have different begging points. We will set the goals and achieve them together! Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. Singing is a beautiful and interesting process. Read More

As Shinichi Suzuki said, musical harmony breeds social harmony; to learn and make music together helps us all. For this I have grown the string and choral programs in Elmhurst's 51st Avenue Academy; taught violin, viola, and chamber music at the Queens College Center for Preparatory Studies in Music; led the Stony Brook Pre-College chamber music program; taught strings and chorus in Kiev, Ukraine; taught graduate education courses at Touro College online; and enjoy teaching music at NJ's Calderone School. My teaching experience all started 2 and a half years ago when I first began teaching voice and piano in my home studio, working primarily with younger students. After some time teaching at home, I began to work at music studios and had the experience to teach students of all ages and see them progress and develop their technique. My experiences in teaching one-on-one lessons have allowed me to identify a student's strengths and weaknesses, as well as their interests, likes, and dislikes, right away and help take their talents to the best of their abilities. I been playing the piano since age 3 (over 40 years ago!). Since getting certified, I can play and teach all instruments, with piano being my primary instrument. I encourage regular practice and strive tocoordinate the students' schedule along with musical success. Parental involvement is essential. As little as reminding the student to practice daily! I look forward to meeting new students of all ages!! Read More
