I stay flexible to the individual students' needs. I try to keep the student engaged and ask many questions to help them become their own best teacher. I will give assignments and create goals but also want the student to be self motivated. I will not be overly strict when it comes to practice. I have always been passionate about music! I started taking lessons at 8years old and haven't stopped since. I knew right away that this was my calling, that music was going to be my life. I started teaching before I even graduated high school, helping and learning from my own instructors who helped me become a great teacher myself! For beginners who are children, I usually start with the Alfred Series. This series will determine the capabilities of the student early on. I pay attention to the student's progress and once I feel they can move on to solo repertoire appropriate for recitals, I will move them down that path. For adults, I use the adult books from the Alfred Series, but I also use the UK piano grade system. Read More
