My goal as a teacher is to address each of these three categories, allowing my singers to grow in each of them. I've been making music since I was twelve-years-old. Not long after I started writing, I found a vocal coach, as well as a producer and mentor who began recording me. From there I recorded two albums, opened for numerous recording artists, built a recording studio, created a band and got accepted into California Institute of the Arts and Berklee College of Music. I am a big believer in the breath. For a beginner I do a lot of exercises with breath connection to encourage healthy, connected singing. I like the idea that the voice dances on the breath and is buoyed and protected by that technique. I am also a very physical teacher, encouraging students to use their whole body in the act of singing. The voice is carried by the whole body and not just the muscles that are the vocal chords.
