For beginning students who are children, I typically start with simple chords and teach them a few fun songs. If the student is interested in learning how to read music, I will use Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance if they are interested in performing live. For adults, I like to find out what they are most interested in, whether it is a specific genre, (jazz/classical) or if they are more interested in learning songs (classic rock/pop/etc.) or songwriting. I have always had a passion for teaching! I come from a family of teachers, and I knew from a young age that I wanted to teach. My senior year of college, I took two semesters of vocal pedagogy and I was instantly hooked. I love the science behind how the voice works, and am fascinated with how that applies to each individual. This new-found passion led to me pursuing my Masters degree in not only performance, but vocal pedagogy as well. Read More

Typically I start off gaining some insight into my students. Who do they look up to, the type of music they're into, what genres they want to improve in, etc... After gathering that information I ask them to sing a song that they enjoy or that means something to them. Based off of that I've gathered a substantial amount of information about their voice and their preferences to develop a curriculum/course outline for them. Read More

I have been teaching for the last 6 years, from 4 years old to 60, in private schools and private lessons, workshops for companies with the companie “Música para todos”, and more. I love teaching because I like to use my experience to help others to develope them talent and over come them fears. In the first voice lesson I try to learn everything I can about the student, and I create a personal curriculum, focusing on the things that he needs to improve, technique, stage presence, scenic fear and microphone technique.
