Posture and Breathing are critical to emphasize every time we pick up our instrument. No matter what we are performing, this always applies and will be addressed as need be. I started teaching privately in 2010 as part of a class assignment, and discovered I really enjoy doing it. I also love teaching and conducting choirs and have done that in various capacities for the past several years. I really believe that singing in choir is the best vocal training for young students. For beginning students who are ages 8-13 will first use the Standard of Excellence red book and then they will transfer to the blue book. Intermediate and Advance will use the Foundations for superior performance book. We will start to pick solos that they are able to play and work on them.
