Instruments: Piano Voice

I believe music should be fun and the process of studying it should be fun. But like everything else, it has challenges, and I think the fun part should be finding solutions to those challenges. I will give them fun exercises and I will give them questions to think about. I'm also quite patient if the student doesn't get something, and I will use different ways to explain it until they can fully understand. Read More

Instruments: Piano Voice

Some are booking gigs at large venues opening for big name artists, others are pursuing careers in music and are getting into schools they never thought possible, others are finally gaining the courage to perform in public, etc. We all seek out voice training for different reasons and it gives me great pleasure be able to assist each singer with his/her personal goals in a way that is individualized, engaging, and exciting! Instruments: Piano Voice Trumpet Acoustic Guitar

I prefer to do half-hour lessons for beginners and young musicians. After more lessons can be prepared, forty-five minute or hour long lessons are more appropriate. For trumpet students, I rely heavily on the Arban method for the essentials and then add other materials depending on the student's goals. For voice students, I begin with a vocal exercise book and a collection of songs to learn. For all my students, I encourage you to bring in your own materials to work on as well. Read More

Instruments: Voice

I began teaching private voice lessons to high school-age children in 2016. Since then, I have had the opportunity to work with people ages 5-30. The Metropolitan Opera Guild was an excellent teaching experience, where my mentors included teachers at Lincoln Center and New England Conservatory alumni. As a participant in NEC's Vocal Pedagogy program, I had the experience of teaching lessons to my colleagues in NEC Opera. This year I will be serving as a Voice Teaching Assistant, teaching voice lessons to non-majors as part of their curriculum. Read More

Being a new teacher I can't speak to really any past experience. All I can say is that music has to be fun period. You're not going to practice if you don't enjoy what you're doing! Read More

Instruments: Piano Voice Keyboard

I love both teaching and performing voice and piano to all ages. My greatest passion is getting to share my love and lifelong pursuit of music with my students, no matter their level. When I am not teaching, I am often performing as a soprano soloist with prominent groups in Boston and around the country. In my teaching, I value healthy technique, music literacy (it is a language!), exposing students to diverse repertoire, and ample opportunities for students to play active roles in their creative development in music. Instruments: Voice

To begin with, I teach my students how to develop their own warm up method which includes breathing and stretching, vocalizations and good old fashioned solfege. You will learn to understand your own vocal mechanism and how it resonates, as well as how breath support works, and their effects on the singing voice. My teaching style is customized to the student.  I encourge working with scales, rhythms, improvisation, ear-training, also working with and learning songs. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
