My ultimate goal would be to guide students through their growth in music and abilities. There is nothing more rewarding than knowing that I have shared my knowledge and passion with a student and they grew from it. I believe that every student learns differently, so I teach lessons according to how they learn. For beginner students who are adults, I tend to begin with Alfreds Basic Adult All in One Course. It is a wonderful book that teaches beginning theory and piano concepts at the perfect pace for adult students. As we progress through the book together, I begin to give pieces such as Clementis Sonatina in C (first movement). We start at a slower tempo and work each hand individually until the student is comfortable to try both hands. Read More

I have a somewhat fast paced, exciting music teaching style but am cognizent and respectful of the need for each student to progress at his or her individual pace. I like to engage the student fully in the process of learning, and as there are several different learning modalities, I feel it important to establish which style the student most identifies with. I love being able to send students on their way for the day knowing that they put their best foot forward. Even if they did not come to a lesson prepared, being able to see growth in the small amount of time I'm with them is enough for me. I understand that every student progresses at their own pace, so I work with them and their parents to make sure that realistic goals are set and written down to hold the student, parent, and myself to this growth plan. My teaching experience started when I was in high school. Being a son of two teachers I was compelled to become a tutor. I was my first student. Teaching myself how to play the piano and gutiar. My father taught me methods of how to learn and thats what I use to teach. I gained more experience helping people write essays and do home work.
