Instruments: Piano Voice

I aim to make each lesson special, tailoring it to what each student needs. It's not just about learning the technical stuff; it's about helping them love music, understand it, and enjoy expressing themselves through it. Teaching, for me, isn't just about lessons. It's like being a guide on a journey. I'm there to help students discover their potential, navigate the ups and downs of making music, and, most importantly, to make sure they enjoy every step of the way. Read More

As a teacher, I have worked on vocal technique and coached audition material with many fellow actors. I have also worked with high-schoolers on material from musicals. I am a very patient, fun and challenging teacher for all skill levels.  I have small recording studio in my home that I use to make demos for my students, or record lessons and backing tracks. UPON REQUEST: this small recording studio is portable, and should a student want to record in their home or meet me at a rented studio I can bring the recording equipment.  Read More

My goal is for all of my students to feel relaxed and free in their lessons. Singers use a lot of different emotions and they need to feel very much at home with their teacher in order to explore those moods. I teach taking into account the the student's age level and ability, and I'm very sensitive to time-constraints that most students have during their week. It's important to keep goals realistic, vocally safe, and fun. Read More

I like my lessons to be fun! I like to start my lesson with a "music swap": we each play one minute of a song that we found that week from youtube or spotify and take 30-60 seconds to say why we found it interesting or inspiring (it can be any genre). We then aim to discuss and practice a new technical skill and use exercises to develop it, we work on a song from the method series or a song that the student wants to work on (I often transpose pop/rock songs for my students), and then rhythm training, ear training, and music theory concepts are interspersed throughout. Piano: For adults, I mix many methods together to see which one works well with the student, and make sure to know which songs they really want to play so I write it down for them according to tp their level. For young kids usually, I go between piano adventures and TRC, also I write for them the songs that they really want to play. Singing: I make sure we go with the style of songs they like and go from there to the singing techniques plus I try to add some solfege and ear training. always try to make it fun Read More

For students aged 3-6, I ensure to use visual materials. I also try to give the student time at the end of the lesson to improvise, which ensures ending on a positive note.-Students aged 7-13 always a quick Q&A regarding music studies in school if they are participating in the school's music program. They are also given scale exercises to ensure a solid knowledge of the major and minor scales.-Students 14+ are given the opportunity to express particular interests and goals that they are specifically trying to reach. I've been teaching private lessons since college. I've taught beginner piano and different levels of voice. I like to make sure my students have a strong foundation, but I also make sure they're enjoying their lessons! Music therapy is different than teaching private lessons, but I've worked with many different people throughout my time as a music therapist including; children with disabilities, geriatric patients, psychiatric patients, adults in memory care, and many others. Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
