In May of 2016, I graduated from the University of Connecticut holding a bachelors degree in Music. At UConn, I took - and currently take private lessons with Metropolitan Opera bass-baritone Rod Nelman. My time at UConn was diversely beneficial, granting me opportunities to perform in operas, musicals, an a capella group, a marching band, and professional-level choirs that have performed at venues such as Carnegie Hall. I spent a semester taking classes with the Neag School of Education, working a teaching clinical in a nearby middle school, and a semester with the School of Business, studying entrepreneurship and managerial/interpersonal behavior. In 2017, I graduated from Western Connecticut State University with a degree in Music, concentration in Classical Voice. From there Ive been working on my masters at the University of Bridgeport in Music Education. I will obtain that degree in December of 2019. I have been teaching for 5 years, ever since of friend of mine asked for some lessons to help him get back to singing. I loved the direct connection to this very personal aspect of peoples' lives, and I felt humbled by the trust I was given. I gained experience by doing, asking questions, and really listening to the needs of my students. For Voice Students: I start each lesson with 10-15 minutes of vocal warm-ups and scales. The remainder of the lesson revolves around vocal pieces that either I think would be a good match for the voice, age, maturity, and ability of the student, or preparing a student for an audition or performance that they would like to perform a specific piece for. I also like to incorporate sight reading and ear training into my lessons, especially as the student grows into their voice. Read More
