I then took a year to work in the industry at several regional musical theater and opera houses domestically and internationally. I began teaching beginner piano when I was in middle school and caught the teaching bug! (My dad was a high school choir teacher for thirty-five years, so I must have caught it from him.) Now I teach violin/fiddle, voice and piano. I believe that learning classical music and sight reading are both fundamentals to begin learning any instrument. The first two things that I teach in my studio is posture and breathing. I analyze the posture of the singer and find several yoga postures that can help the student to relax some tension and to be more comfortable. I help students to be more aware of how the breath works in their bodies by using several repeating breath exercises and yoga posture. My vocal technique is based on YogaVoice, meaning that I used Yoga principles combined with Vocal Technique exeecises to sing more organic and to achieve an authentic relaxed voice. Read More

I'm an experienced singer and musician with a large background in performing, music theory, and writing music. I studied piano for 12 years and have been singing my whole life. I have studied musical theater, opera, classical, and pop music over the years. I am a full time student graduating in a year with hopes of singing part time as a worship Leader through Evangelism; yet, I also wish to work as a Business administrator for non-profits, and as a government social worker helping the less fortunate. I have so much to do, luckily my degree covers all three interests. However, nothing beats singing it frees me spiritually and heals me mentally. I enjoy sharing my love for music with my students. Over the years, I have traveled to different parts of the world performing and participating in a variety of activities. For me, music is not just a career, it's my life. It is a form of de-stressing, a moment away from the busy city life.
