Witnessing the musical and personal growth in a student is endlessly rewarding! My approach to teaching is to give my students clear and obtainable goals at each lesson, so that they will have the tools they need to succeed. I also strive to discern the specific learning style of my students so that I may cater the lessons specifically to the individual. I am always so thrilled to be able to introduce students to a song/genre/composer that they are really excited about! Read More

I am a graduate from Texas AM University Kingsville. I studied with soprano Dr. Melinda Brou during my undergraduate years. I received my BM in 2013, and I am now working on my MM at the University of Texas at Austin where I study under the direction of baritone David Small. My greatest experiences as a singer have been performing operatic and musical roles such as Danny Zuko in "Grease" (Laredo Community College), Papageno in "The Magic Flute (Texas AM University Kingsville), and The Learned Judge in "Trial by Jury" (Texas AM University Kingsville). I am incredibly fulfilled by witnessing growth in my students, and love the "Ah-HA!" moments. My approach is based on the student's learning patterns and interests, and tailor my lessons to each individual student. I feel that music is the ultimate form of expression, and I try to make my foundation as limitless as possible. Growth is the main goal for me and my students. My job is not to make virtuosos, but to give my students the right practice and motivational tools so they can accomplish their goals while also having fun. Read More

PIANO STUDENTS: For beginners, I prefer the Bastien series. I like a lot of variety but am very careful to not give too much at once. It is better to become excellent at each thing slowly, than try to do a lot and not be that good at any of it. I am a stickler for starting out with scales and theory right away. Understanding rhythm right away is of utmost importance as well. Read More
