Once the student has developed and progressed over certain aspects I will introduce repertoire that will be learned and performed at the end. I am full of energy and love learning as much as I can, but I also understand that full and in depth skill requires time and a certain level of patience and consistency. I relay this to students by repetition (specifically of principles), though I keep it fun and exciting by varying the application. Once the principle is fully grasped, we move on. I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun for the appropriate level(s). I like Mayron Cole piano method because it provide solid progression for rhythm counting, systematic build up for sight reading as well as introducing key concepts in music theory/history/genre.
